In an almost empty room, four strangely similar beings meet – in a production inspired by horror movies. Liminaria takes us on a journey through multiple depictions of the dreadful, the ugly, the hideous – and perhaps also the beautiful.
Liminaria means thresholds, transitions. Inspired by the psychological thriller, the production presents four beings who resemble each other, but who make different choices and take on different roles – protagonists and antagonists, victims and monsters – without us always knowing which is which. Sudesh Adhana’s and Nora Svenning’s work involves twisting and rattling familiar situations – to create a transition to the unknown. The duo find it exciting to explore the horror genre with dance: Where dance is a wordless and physical expression, fear is such a fundamental feeling that it has been with us as humans long before we had language.
Liminaria is a fascinating dance experience that could also be suitable for audiences who have not necessarily seen much dance, but who are interested in the horror genre. The production is suitable for young people aged 12 and above.
