Cooking with Jassem

An easy going collective cooking class where you will learn how to make a set of Arab dishes to perfection. Accompanied by a presentation of middle eastern produce, their story, the secret behind their names, where to buy what in Oslo, revealing an ecology of friendship and complicity between land and people. Bring sharp knifes, soft hearts, and cutting boards.

Diets: Jassem will focus on vegetarian dishes, and might also present a dish containing fish.
Allergies: Please let us know if you have any allergies that we should be aware of.

About Jassem:
Jassem el Hindi is a French Lebanese Palestinian sound artist and choreographer living in Norway. He uses the double bind of haunting and hospitality as a way to articulate sound and dance. His work is based on broken dances and broken poems to create dark cosmological worlds. His latest pieces, Laundry of Legends and Sun Eaters, are based on Arabic death poems (Etel Adnan, Nazik el Malaika), requiem poetry (Aase Berg, Tor Ulven) and contemporary folk dance from Norway, Brittany and West Asia. He performs and is commissioned on main stages internationally. His work as a sound artist has been featured in numerous award winning dance performances around the world. He is a board member on several palestinian associations and runs a diffusion platform for Palestine.
