Loneliness is everywhere, and it is highlighted due to society's focus on achievement and defined forms of belonging, bullying, exclusion, and social media's grip on everyday life. We also see solo artists and people who choose to be alone – both in art and life. What is the difference between being alone and lonely, and how has loneliness changed and evolved as a cultural and historical phenomenon?
In this conversation, actor and comedian Else Kåss Furuseth meets author and cultural historian Hilde Østby. The discussion will be moderated by photo artist and editor Nina Strand, with an introduction to the phenomenon of loneliness by Østby.
The panel discussion will take place after the performance Under by Sølvi Edvardsen.
