Open call: Koreografilaboratoriet 2025
Deadline for submission Desember 20th at 23.59.
English text:
Dansens Hus aims to strengthen opportunities for professional creative dance artists and choreographers in Norway by facilitating a laboratory for dance and choreography. Here, projects in various phases will have the opportunity to be further developed and performed with both dramaturgical and production guidance.
Koreografilaboratoriet concludes with three performances on the Studio Stage at Dansens Hus, where, together with other choreographers and dance artists, you will have the opportunity to showcase your work to an audience in a professional setting.
Creative dance artists and choreographers of all ages and career stages are welcome to apply.
A committee consisting of three artists will make a selection based on the submitted applications. The selected artists will be announced by 17.01.25. The mentor for Koreografilaboratoriet 2025 is Jessica Lauren Elizabeth Taylor.
Dansens Hus offers:
- Production grant (paid as a fee through invoice):
- Solo: NOK 30,000
- Duo: NOK 40,000
- Trio/group: NOK 50,000
No other grants are provided other than the production grant, this includes expenses linked to any travel and accommodation. Other planned funding for the period at Dansens Hus should be presented in the budget.
- A simple lighting design and technical setup. Using complex lighting design or large scenographic elements will not be possible, as there is limited rehearsal time and rig time during the performances. This does not mean low quality, but that it is feasible in relation to the framework provided. Applicants are responsible for providing and/or creating sound material for the project. Dansens Hus offers sound technical assistance as well as technical setup and operation.
- 2 technical stage rehearsals of 5 hours each (10:00 to 15:00 both days) in addition to a dress rehearsal.
- 3 performances for the public at Dansens Hus in the period 04.-07.06, together with the other selected works.
- Choreographic/dramaturgical guidance prior to and during the rehearsals at Dansens Hus.
- Dissemination through Dansens Hus' communication platforms and guidance in communication material.
- Documentation recording of the work.
