Dates & times

With Silent Legacy, Maud Le Pladec explores gender, heritage and dance culture through two unusually free and lively performers: Ten-year-old Adeline Kerry Cruz is a dance prodigy from Montreal. She is a student of the well-known krump expert Jr Maddripp. Krump (short for 'Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise) is a rhythmic and fairly aggressive dance style that originated in Los Angeles in the early 2000s.

Audrey Merilus is an adult, professional dancer who is a master of the language, techniques and codes of contemporary dance. In two fascinating, and very different solos, Silent Legacy deconstructs social and choreographic norms. What is each one’s heritage, and how do they create their own, personal dance? Maud Le Pladec invites us into an intense dance experience, where the interface between cultures and tradition reveals the explosive vitality that can be contained in skill and heritage.

Strobe light is used in this performance.
