Welcome to a production in which artists and children together recreate Hans Christian Andersen’s delightful fairytale. dybwikdans uses this – and other productions – to preserve the tradition of fairytales and stimulate wonder and imagination. In this version of the Princess and the Pea, the story is told through text and dance, set to the backdrop of a sensory stage design.
The production preserves the wonder of the fairytale, while the story takes an alternative look at how boys and girls, kings and princesses are portrayed. Several kindergartens were active contributors to the development of this production.
The production premièred at the Gulbenkian during the bOing! festival in Canterbury in England in 2016, and as well as numerous performances in Norway, has also been performed at the Centro Cultural de Belem in Lisboa and Art Space for Kids in Beijing and Shanghai. Prinsessen på erten is still touring nationally and internationally – when circumstances allow. The tour will hopefully include a month in Japan in the summer of 2021.
Suitable for children aged between 3 and 5.
The production lasts from 40–60 minutes, depending on the interaction with the audience.
BE AWARE! - The number of children’s tickets is limited, so we are not selling tickets via the website. The maximum number of children allowed at each performance is 20. Each child may be accompanied by no more than two adults. If you would like to reserve tickets, please email billettsalg@dansenshus.com
