In WEE’s new production HOME MOVIE, the house can be seen as a world in miniature. The house as a piece of architecture helps to define how the body moves in a space. It also reflects our intimate being, a place where people can dream and fantasise.

The production explores our emotional relationship to the concept of ‘home’, and the feeling of everyday experiences through a person’s life. The five dancers on the stage rediscover rituals and invite the audience to explore the auditorium, which is built up as several rooms within the space. When they move through the different rooms, varying degrees of distance and proximity are created.

HOME MOVIE forms part of a series of productions in which WEE works with a visual language that is a mix of theatre and contemporary dance. They have created a series of captivating productions that have a distinctively cinematic nature. As a Norwegian company, they are well-known for their extensive collaboration with international artists, and this production involves artists from Sweden, Belgium, Croatia, Italy and Costa Rica.
