Drøm is a family production for children aged 4 and upward. Choreographer Inger Cecilie Bertrán de Lis’s preparations for this production have involved children, parents and grandparents. She has interviewed children and adults about their dreams, giving many of the children the task of drawing pictures of their dreams. The artists used this authentic material as their basis and inspiration, and together have created a family production.

The audience might share the same dreams and thoughts about dreams, and find similarities and differences, because dreaming is universal.

The production does not try to provide any answers as to why we dream or to interpret the meaning of dreams. A great deal of research is looking at why we dream. Do our dreams mean anything? Do we dream to process information and the various sensory impressions we experience during the course of a day? Or do our dreams have no function at all? We might never know the answers to these questions.

Dreams are a fascinating landscape in which to move, and provide endless room for interpretation. The artists have been inspired by the authentic material they were given at the start of the project, in which imagination and absurdity merge into a dreamplay.
