Sbusiso Gumede will present a workshop in Moving into Dance’s signature style, Afrofusion. This dance technique focuses on grounding, embracing gravity. It blends the richness of different African dance techniques, music and rhythm with contemporary dance.

BIO:
Hailing from KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, Sbusiso Gumede joined Moving into Dance’s (MID) training in 2017 and was accepted into the professional dance company in 2020. He had the opportunity to tour with David Gouldie for the Le Atellier Awards in Botswana, Cape Town, Joburg and Mozambique. His latest tour was with “We wear our wheels with pride…” by Robyn Orlin which toured Europe extensively in the past two years, and was part of the cast for Jessica Nupen’s “The Nose” which was translated from a staged work to a dance film in 2021. He has performed and toured within South Africa with Moving into Dance and performed many of historic and iconic works choreographed under the MID stable. Sbusiso is committed to inclusive dance and wants to be teach and perform alongside youth living with disabilities.
