Workshop: Marianne Kjærsund/Elle Sofe Sara x PRODA
This workshop is led by Marianne Kjærsund, one of the dancers from Elle Sofe Company. It focuses on how we develop power and massiveness through conscious use of weight and gravity, both individually and in groups. We also incorporate voice into some of the exercises, inviting participants into the artistic landscape that the company works in, in a simple way.

Bio:
Marianne Kjærsund works as a performer and as a pedagogue in the Nordic region. Central for her practice is the long-term collaboration with choreographer Hagar Malin Hellkvist Sellén that started in 2005. Kjærsund is active in the artistic collective Bøler samvirkelag and her performance experience stems from a broad variation of collaborations with, among others, Helle Siljeholm, Kristin Helgebostad and Carte Blanche – The Norwegian National Company for Contemporary Dance.
Marianne was awarded the Rolf Gammeleng prize for dancers in 2014, the State’s work grant for younger artists in 2010 and the State’s work grant in 2015. She has been employed at SKUDA since 2018.
In her own work, Kjærsund is attracted to the matter of the phenomenon “groove”, the art of improvisation and the inherent poetry of the body.
Kjærsund collaborates with Sara as a dancer and with generating movement material. She also serves as the project manager for the future project Savvon and for 2024s Summer Intensive.Their collaboration started in 2010 during the production of Beatnaga ii galgga gulgii geahččat- Don’t judge the dog by its fur. Kjærsund is a dancer in Vástádus eana – The answer is land.

Outside of work Kjærsund is busy with the outdoors, especially rock climbing and hiking.
