Together with the participants we will explore different ways on how sensuality and femininity combined, are able to play a key role in our own unique experience of movement and how connecting deeper though them is able to contribute further to a collective source of vulnerability and empowerment within an artistic and social context.

Bios:

Ermira Goro is a highly innovative artist specialising in movement, dance and performance. She is constantly exploring new forms of expression to convey her ideas, with a particular focus on developing interdisciplinary performances that captivate and inspire her audiences. Ermira graduated from the the Greek National School of Dance and furthered her training in New York with scholarships from the Koula Pratsika Foundation and the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). During her time in New York, she collaborated with renowned international dance companies and created her initial choreographic works.

From 2007 to 2018, Ermira had the privilege of collaborating with the world-renowned DV8 Physical Theatre as a performer, teacher, and Research and Development / Choreography Assistant. In 2022, Ermira received a nomination for Outstanding Performer at The Bessies, The New York Dance and Performance Awards.

Alongside creating and performing, Ermira has been invited by internationals organisations to teach and create choreographic works.

Over the years, Ermira's work has been supported and presented at numerous festivals and venues in Greece and around the world, earning critical acclaim for its imaginative and unique approach.

 

Adonis Vais was born in Athens, Greece in 1984. His passion for music moved him since childhood. First time he attended a dance class was at the age of 17. In 2006 he got admitted at the Greek State School of Dance where he graduated in 2009, awarded with the Koula Pratsika Foundation Scholarship. During his studies he danced for the Hellenic Dance Company and the choreographer Valasia Simeonidou. He debuted professionaly as a performer in ''NOWHERE'' by Dimitris Papaioannou and the Greek National Theater. He then collaborated with choreographers Konstantinos Rigos-Oktana Dance Theater, Jukstapoz / Christine Gouzelis & Paul Blackman, Elena Christodoulidou and Machi Dimitriadou Lindahl. At the end of 2010 he moved to the Netherlands where he worked for Dorit Weintal – Dansmakers Amsterdam, to continue later in Berlin, as a member of the cie.Toula Limnaios for the year 2011. From 2012 until 2019 he was creating, touring and performing internationally as a freelance artist with the Sasha Waltz & Guests Company.

In 2015 he performed ''Untitled'' (Go-go Dancing Platform) by Felix Gonzales Torres at the Schwules Museum Berlin, and in 2020 ''Bodies & Structure'' by Alexandra Waierstall at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau. Since 2020 he is based in Athens, collaborating with artists Ermira Goro, Christos Papadopoulos, Agni Papadeli Rossetou, Tzeni Argyriou, Alexis Fousekis, Thomas Moschopoulos, Poka Yio and Iria Vrettou.

Since 2017 he has created choreographic works, performances and installations for the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Ufer Studios Berlin, Fabrik Potsdam, Athens Pride Festival, Theaternatur Festival, the Athens Video Dance Project and Kournos Music Festival. He is a member choreographer of the “Urtopias Academy of Choreography” of the 2023 Elefsis European Capital of Culture.
