A dance workshop for children 3-5 years old about based on the performance Four Go Wild In Wellies. There will be a total of four workshops happening 15 minutes after the performances Saturday 07. and Sunday 08. September.
The workshops are led by the dancers, and follow the themes of the performance – friendship, games and making shapes in the environment: A playful look at the joy of inventiveness and curiosity, the negotiation of social structures, and how friendships are built, broken and mended as play emerges from interaction with each other and with the world around them.

Bios
Julie Spence is a dance worker and performer who started work with Indepen-dance in February 2015 as a creative dance assistant and has progressed to work with Indepen-dance 4 as an understudy dancer appearing in Four Go Wild in Wellies at various venues including Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018 at Dance Base and Teatro Mayor Bogotá, Colombia 2019 and has also started teaching Indepen-dance classes around Glasgow and some surrounding areas. Julie has aided in many performances with Indepen-dance along with their Adult Performance and Youth (Young1z) performance group. Julie has recently been put through her Dance Leadership Qualification with Indepen-Dance to develop her teaching skills.
Neil Price is a performer and dance artist who started working with Indepen-dance in 2009 with the company’s Dance Development Officer and Dance Workers to deliver workshops for the weekly core programme of classes at Scottish Ballet, CCA and Tramway. Since 2009 Neil has performed in a variety of the large ensembles productions including; Mosiac, Whistler, Forecast, Now No Now as well as performing a duet for a piece entitled ‘Just Two Good Pals’, choreographed by Wils McAslan performing this in Glasgow, Murcia, Belfast, Cardiff and London at various festivals and dance and disability conferences. Neil also appeared in a DVD “You Can Do It” to promote good health through exercise to people with learning disabilities. He danced in this DVD and also played football.
Neil continues to promote the work of Indepen-dance by co-facilitating outreach workshops in many places in the UK, Spain, Italy and Calgary, Canada with MoMo Integrated Theatre in 2010 and most recently in Madrid Spain in the Casa Encendida.
Neil joined Indepen-dance 4 in 2013 and is dance artist with Indepen-dance 4, he has worked over the past 4 years with a variety of choreographers and directors including Marc Brew, Christine Devaney, Ramesh Meyyappan and George Adams creating work which has toured across the UK, France and Belgium. Neil is has performed his own choreography with his uncle Frank McConnell, Artistic Director of Plan B. This is part of his Personal Development Plan and it is the company’s intention to support him with his future as a dancer and choreographer.
Maura Armstrong is a dance artist who started with the traditional dance style of Flamenco from the age of 3years old whilst being brought up in Southern Spain.
On moving back to Scotland, Maura danced with Barrowland Ballet's Youth Group, which then became an Intergenerational Company, Maura also danced in a variety of Indepen-dance's productions from a young age this includes productions with the Adult Performance Company, Youth Company, Young 1'z and most recently the Professional Inclusive Small Ensemble performing work at the Edinburgh Festival and the KIADA Festival in South Korea in 2023.
Maura is now in her final year at Glasgow Clyde College where she studies dance and has been part of Scotland's National Youth Dance Company for the last 2 years and has had the opportunity to tour with NYDC across the UK and Europe.
Maura is now auditioning for a variety of institutions across the UK to complete her Degree in Dance, she is looking forward to travelling to New York as support dancer and understudy for Indepen-dance's Award Winning Children's Production Four Go Wild In Wellies.
