Backdrop - Scenes from Norwegian dance history is a documentary series initiated and created by Danseinformasjonen and Dansens Hus. The history of art in the 20th century has a close connection to both industrialization, the liberation of women, wars, politics and revolutions. Dance history is no exception.
In Bakteppe (Backdrop), historian Sigrid Ø. Svendal takes you into exciting eras of Norwegian dance history and shows how dance was shaped by what happened around the world at the same time. With strong commitment and communication skills, she shows you events from the dance that you may not have known about before.
